Designed Drive™ · Live Your Drive

Your giftedness is a gift, already at work. Let’s name it.

You’ve been living it your whole life, in the moments you felt most alive and most yourself. Designed Drive helps you finally see it and put it to work.

The problem

Capable isn’t the same as energized.

Most leaders aren’t short on talent. They’re good at many things, and that’s often the trouble.

Their calendars fill with work they can do well but that quietly drains them, while the work that brings them alive gets pushed to the margins.

Personality profiles describe your type. Skills and team-role assessments measure what you can do, or what you tend to prefer. Neither tells you what you were designed to do: the work you’re consistently drawn to, and the source of lasting energy and fruitfulness.

A different kind of assessment

Everyone has a unique gift. Your story already shows it.

Designed Drive doesn’t ask you to rate yourself or pick between hypothetical options. It starts with what you’ve actually done and found deeply satisfying, across every season of your life. When the same pattern appears in a childhood project, a first job, and last year’s biggest win, that’s more than a habit. It’s design.

Keith Hileman is an executive coach and organizational consultant with 30 years of experience as a pastor. He has been helping people discover their giftedness since 2020. He is certified in giftedness discovery and Meta Performance coaching and created the Designed Drive framework. It’s grounded in an achievement-story method with more than 75 years of history and in respected research from vocational and organizational psychology.

The plan

You already live it. Here’s how we name it.

  1. 1

    Tell Your Stories

Through a guided conversation, you share the accomplishments you’ve found most satisfying, from childhood to today.

  2. 2

    We Find the Pattern

Keith analyzes your stories and identifies what recurs across them, in your own words.

  3. 3

    Discover & Apply

In a live debrief, you see your pattern come together and explore what it means for your role, your decisions, and your future. You’ll leave with your personal Designed Drive profile.

What you’ll discover

One drive. Five ways it shows up.

At the center of your profile is your Designed Drive, the core payoff you keep pursuing in everything you find most satisfying. It usually takes one or two of five recognizable shapes.

The Designed Drive wheel: one center with five spokes labeled Deliver, Refine, Impact, Vanquish, and Excel
DDeliver
You find satisfaction in bringing things to a concrete finish and handing off the result.
RRefine
You’re drawn to improving how something is done, so the process keeps getting sharper.
IImpact
You come alive when something is visibly different because you were involved.
VVanquish
You rise to real resistance, such as a challenge, a skeptic, or a hard circumstance, and prevail within it.
EExcel
You’re motivated to meet or beat a standard of excellence, not just finishing, but finishing well.

Your profile also shows how that drive plays out: the abilities you most love to use, the content you’re drawn to, the conditions where you thrive, and your natural relational style.

Who it’s for

Built for leaders who want to lead from their design.

  • Leaders at a crossroads weighing a new role, a transition, or what’s next.
  • Pastors and executives ready to shape their role around how they’re actually wired.
  • High performers who feel depleted and want to understand the difference between what they’re good at and what gives them energy.
  • Teams that want each person contributing from their strengths. Team packages available.

Without clarity

It’s easy to keep saying yes to good work that isn’t your work. You take roles that look right on paper and wonder why success feels heavier than it should.

With clarity

You gain language for what you’ve always sensed about yourself. You make decisions with confidence, shape your role around your strengths, and can explain to a board, a boss, or a spouse what brings out your best.

What Designed Drive is (and isn’t)

Giftedness is a phenomenon to be discovered, not a problem to be diagnosed.

Designed Drive describes a pattern. It doesn’t explain it, score it, or judge it. It doesn’t ask why you’re drawn to what you’re drawn to. It simply shows what has shown up again and again when you’ve been at your best.

It is

  • A mirror built entirely from your own stories and your own words
  • A description of what energizes and satisfies you
  • Language for stewarding what’s already there

It isn’t

  • A personality type or a test score
  • A measure of your skill, character, maturity, or spiritual depth
  • A verdict on who you should be
Investment

Invest in knowing your design.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from StrengthsFinder, Enneagram, or DISC?

Those tools ask you to describe yourself through questionnaires. Designed Drive looks at what you’ve actually done and enjoyed and finds the pattern in your real history. Many people find it complements the tools they already know.

Do my stories need to be impressive?

No. A backyard fort at age nine counts as much as a promotion. What matters is that you found it satisfying.

Can I do this with my team?

Yes. Team packages combine individual profiles to help a team see how its members are wired and where each person naturally contributes most.

Is this faith-based?

Designed Drive works for anyone. Many of the leaders we serve find the language of “design” and “gift” resonates with their faith, and we’re glad to explore that with you. It isn’t required.

Name it. Live it.
